Oncology
Care for cancer
“Cancer” is a word that evokes fear in just about everyone. “Veterinary oncologist” is a person who can provide hope and comfort.
Veterinary oncologists diagnose and treat pet cancers. The goal of the oncology team is to provide the patient with a cure or, if a cure is not possible, the most comfortable quality of life for as long as possible. Advanced diagnostic testing for cancers, including ultrasound, CT scans and biopsy procedures, is used to identify the type, location and behavior of a particular tumor. Surgery, medications (called “chemotherapy”) and radiation therapy can be quite effective at shrinking or eliminating tumors and making the patient more comfortable.
Cancers treated by our oncologists include
- Lymphoma

- Melanoma
